Metz Vineyard represents, “classic”  Paso Robles terroir, carefully developed and farmed to produce exceptional fruit for discerning wineries. Every phase of the vineyard's development has been guided by precision planning. With meticulous attention to detail, vine rows have been aligned along the ideal Northeast/Southwest orientation wherever the land permits. This strategic layout results in gentle, dappled sunlight, preventing overexposure and minimizing the risks of burn and raisining while promoting optimal anthocyanin development for vibrant, complex fruit. The rolling hills of the property are composed of weathered calcareous bedrock while the valley is composed of deeper alluvium sandy clay loam.  Varieties and rootstocks were selected to optimize the site's climate and soils.  Certified Sustainable through the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, management of the land with a long term sustainable impact has always been a focus.
