Pasoreno Vineyard came about through the desire of two brothers to create a farming legacy for their kids and a special place for family gatherings. Visible from the kids’ schools and car seats, Pasoreno’s hilltops bravely face the Templeton Gap and review both Paso Robles and Templeton. With a mix of highly calcareous, Linne-Calodo and Nacimiento soils, the six varieties were matched to blocks across the myriad of slopes, aspects and soils. At the property apex an experimental agave field frames one of the property’s majestic Coastal Live Oaks. Over one third of the property is managed as an Oak savanna and it’s within these tree canopies where the brothers first saw the large buck that lends the property the Spanish name of ‘Pass of the Big Buck’.
